Rally (or Rally Obedience) is an interactive dog sport that combines skills learned for basic and competition obedience exercises into a course where the dog and handler move from station to station completing each exercise. This class is idea to practice and advance the skills learned in your Basic Obedience classes. Teamwork and fun are emphasized in this class! If competition is your goal, you will learn the beginning skills necessary for the beginning levels of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) Rally competition.
During class, dog and handler teams navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform such as Sit-Down-Sit, Straight Figure 8, Send Over Jump and Recall Over Jump. Teams navigate the course at a brisk, continuous performance. In this Level 1 APDT course, exercises will be demonstrated and discussed, and opportunities to practice each exercise will be given each week. RECALL - ROOOOOVER COOOOOME!!!
Five-week class, Sunday 11am - 12n
Dates: March 25, April 1, 8, 15, and 22
Open to 4 dogs and their handlers
Instructor: Almudena Ortiz Cue, M.A. CPDT-KA, Tellington TTouch Practioner

Dogs must be dog friendly and comfortable working in close proximity of other dogs.
Us of a harness (back clip preferable) for session 4 and 5.
In this semi-private course you will learn techniques that, when practiced with consistency, will teach your dog to mind you in all sorts of distracting environments. You will also learn how to use your dog's natural behavior, such as chasing, to your advantage. Your dog will learn to "check in" with you more in new and fun environments and to be more responsive to your cues for attention and play.
As a result of our work together during the course and your practice outside of class, you both will become more of a team in off-leash adventures - instead of YOU having to worry if Rover will come back to you!
The first three classes will be held in the classroom. For sessions 4 and 5, we will meet as a group at an off-leash location so we can practice what we've learned in the classroom. The first class is a people only orientation (no dogs please).
